Lewis' Projects

Rifle Club Extension

Rifle Club Extension
A local rifle club range required a new extension to be designed in order to accommodate more groups of people and to improve the disabled access to the building. The range was constructed in the late 70's and was originally 33.4m x 5.6m. Our team communicated with the club owners and agreed to design an extension which consisted of a new communal area, kitchen, disabled toilet and armoury all within an additional 4m x 1.5m (front and back) extension on the building.

'KIA ORA' - KIWI CABIN PROJECT

'KIA ORA' - KIWI CABIN PROJECT
KIA ORA (meaning 'essence of life' or 'wishing good health') was a competition brief aimed at designing a meditation cabin for Earth Energies Sanctuary in Auckland, New Zealand. Our team designed KIA ORA with sustainability as the main focal point within the design. KIA ORA is able to naturally ventilate and blend in with nature through the use of locally sourced wood and biomimicry designs incorporated within the structure of the building.

BIODIM

BIODIM
BIODIM is my design proposal for the 2021-2021 RSA Competition Brief 8. BIODIM refers to a biophilic, smart, dimmable window which can electronically dim/tint the windows, thus helping reduce glare, improve focus and improve quality of sleep. A key feature of BIODIM is its ability to display scenic images allowing the owners to reconnect with nature and mask unsightly, industrial or dense residential areas outside their window.
