Third Year Computer Aided Design

'life without art would be seriously boring'

I love Integrating my skills of art into my design thinking and produce outcomes that represent my creative flair. In my spare time I enjoy drawing, painting, and reading art history books. After university, I hope to work in a product or packaging design related career.

The CAD Painting Project

The CAD Painting Project
This project combined my design specialism with a personal subject of choice. This obviously had to be art-related, but with a unique twist. The challenge was to recreate a famous art painting in CAD. The final painting was enhanced further in its own exhibition space. I designed this building in ArchiCAD and rendered the completed environment in Twinmotion. To see the final outcome of this project, check out my ‘Year 3’ projects on my portfolio website.

The 'Alutech' Spaceship Project

The 'Alutech' Spaceship Project
The idea behind this project was inspired by an A’ Design ‘Computer Graphics & 3D Design’ competition. I worked together with Alex Pritchett in Fusion360, to visualise a spaceship interior concept. The ‘Alutech’ spaceship, a brand derived from both our initials, was meant for a small crew to travel comfortably on long journeys. The model was completed in KeyShot10, where additional lighting and realistic textures made the final outcome truly immersive. See the entire project on my website!

The Geometric Jewellery Project

The Geometric Jewellery Project
This mini concept task involved the design of any 3D object of our choice. The only catch was that a specific geometric shape had to be incorporated somewhere in the model. At first glance, I instantly thought of jewellery and gemstones. I created the geometric shape by cutting out the pink gemstone with a line drawing of the shape. To enhance the metal and gemstone materials, the model was created in Fusion360 and rendered in KeyShot10. See a cool animation and the outcome on my website.

Meet Our Students

Our talented students have a wide variety of skill sets which they use to create some amazing pieces of work. This wide diversity allows for students to work in a work-place like environment so that they can develop their team working skills.
