Meadow Dallimore

First Year Games Designer

Hi! I’m a game student with a passion for concept art and character design! I enjoy gaming, drawing, D&D, and hands-on activities like creating and painting sculptures. I have a background in Graphic Design, Film Studies, and English, and am always eager to lead and manage group projects

Alchemist’s Garden was my first group project at Winchester University, and I learned a lot of useful skills during the six weeks of its conceptualisation and creation. My favourite aspect was designing the playable character, Marrow, a passive Hobgoblin investing in potion craft using, and cultivating, rare plants. Marrow’s design was inspired by classic indie game protagonists, most notably the characters from Journey, Omno, and Unravel.

POST-APOCALYPSE was a great project overall, I think we all worked well as a team and were all working towards something we enjoyed. During the conceptualisation phase of the project, we found it important to find a genre that we would all enjoy working on. We ended up going for a zombie-horror game, which I think was a very good call. I have always been a fan of this genre, especially games like Resident Evil, and Days Gone, so I knew I would be very passionate about this project.

The project that I am currently working on is ‘Book and Pen’, a two-player VR escape room experience. There are two players; ‘The Book’ has a brief case of clues, hints, and puzzles outside of the VR space, and ‘The Pen’ is wearing a VR headset and exploring the office of a fictional missing person. Both players must work cooperatively to find the name of the town/country where the person resides, completing cyphers and puzzles to end up with a code word.
